Qualifications

The person for this position is a born storyteller. We are seeking someone who is curious, asking questions that lead to understanding. Additionally, this detail-oriented, organized and focused individual thrives on coordinating all aspects of events. From planning & scheduling high quality content/speakers, to managing a seamless registration process, to ensuring an outstanding experience for program participants, he/she will take care of every detail. He/she is attentive to others and is active listener.  The person for this position has excellent written and verbal communication skills. He/she is able to create clear, compelling and persuasive content. Having a pleasant sense of humor, he/she is professional, kind, warm, friendly, confident, and comfortable in a variety of business settings with outstanding women business owners and corporate partners. This person is member-focused at all times. Without question, this person possesses the highest level of integrity and is extremely trustworthy.

This team player is able to work collaboratively and independently. This position requires the idea candidate to have the skills necessary to make independent decisions that advance the mission of the Chapter. He/she will patiently serve the board, staff, members and corporate partners with a calm demeanor and strong work ethic.  This person will possess an entrepreneurial spirit and be focused on generating revenue through high quality programming that supports the learning and inspiration of constituents.  A talented individual, he/she can deal with multiple projects and consistently meets deadlines by relying on processes, structure, and being tech savvy.

Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities and duties for this Program & Communications Manager position include, but are not limited to, the following items:

  • Facilitate, formulate and implement event planning and logistics for monthly luncheons and all public programming (work with venue, exhibitors, speakers, etc.); coordinate contracts, invoices and agreements.
  • Attend Communications and Programming Committee meetings to guide, monitor, facilitate, and coordinate the work of volunteers to ensure the success of the Chapter.
  • Create and maintain up-to-date information on Chapter website using Wild Apricot and WordPress.
  • Create and post event registrations, blog posts, member database, graphics, and additional communication materials for the Chapter.
  • Create forms for voting, volunteer sign-up, & award nominations
  • Work with graphic designer(s) to create and implement consistent brand values for the Chapter
  • Develop a consistent brand message and marketing language built on the Chapter’s core values
  • Create and send Monday e-news and other event communication as needed.
  • Compile and write articles. Gather graphics.
  • Write, compile and prepare monthly newsletter for print and digital format.
  • Manage Roundtable applications & work with Roundtable VP on placement. Update learning resources online.
  • Work with photographers and videographers to produce engaging event and PR content, and event documentation.
  • Draft & distribute press releases. Interact with key members of the media.
  • Provide expert advice to the Executive Director on key matters affecting the Chapter.

 

Required

  • 4-year degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years work experience
  • Familiarity with basic web-based applications such as Google Drive, Dropbox
  • Proficiency in social media marketing
  • Proficient in InDesign, Adobe Suite, Word, PowerPoint
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred

  • Event and/or project management experience
  • Familiarity with nonprofit reporting structures and roles
  • Strong local and regional network of contacts

 

Desired

  • Experience working with or in an association
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and appreciation for the entrepreneurial journey

Position Structure & Benefits

  • Full-time, at-will salaried position. Salary range in the mid- to high 30s.
