September President's Message

Hello and welcome to September!

This month brings the unofficial end of summer with the Labor Day holiday (7th), Citizenship Day (17th), the official start of fall (22nd), and our national Women’s Business Conference in San Antonio, Texas (27-29th).

It also brings the kickoff of our 2nd Young Entrepreneur Academy (YEA!) program, starting with an information session and open house tonight (September 1) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. You can read more about it here and there’s still time to join us this evening. While you are on the website looking at information about the YEA! Program, be sure to look at the update report on our first class.

With such a busy month ahead, including many of us facing the back-to-school juggle, it’s tough balancing mom and business owner roles. Remember, you can turn to NAWBO and your NAWBO friends for inspiration and support. I would love to hear from you your tips and tricks for keeping it all going.

And when you need to step away, we’ve got you covered there, too. We have great programming lined up this month, including our member luncheon this week that includes another great Public Policy focus, our new member luncheon at my offices, an On Point that addresses boosting your revenue through building your video presence, and our ever-popular Member Meet and Mingle.

Your proud president,

Darla King
