Volunteer Opportunity with the Ohio Prison Entrepreneurship Program

NAWBO Columbus is pleased to be working with the Ohio Prison Entrepreneurship Program to provide guest speakers and role models for women who are learning about entrepreneurship at the Ohio Women's Reformatory (OWC) in Marysville. Program director, Jason Dolin (husband of NAWBO Columbus member, Lisa Dolin) contacted NAWBO Columbus because our members have experienced the highs and lows of starting a business and have deep insights to share.

Program Details:

Beginning on Saturday, January 20, 2018, two classes of 15 to 20 women will participate. The first session meets at 8:00 a.m. for one hour. The second session begins at 9:00 a.m. for one hour. The morning ends by 10:00 to 10:15 a.m.

Each week a substantive entrepreneurship topic will be taught. The following week, a NAWBO member can visit the class to share her experience as it relates to the topic taught the prior Saturday.

An orientation phone call will be scheduled for volunteers prior to their visit to OWC with Jason Dolin.

Dates and topics available for guest speakers are as follows:

Saturday, January 27 - Introduction to Small Business

Saturday, March 24 - Writing Your Business Plan

Saturday, April 7 - Financing Your Business

Saturday, April 21 - Marketing Your Business
